The Sandplay Therapy Association of New Zealand and Australia (STANZA) is a not-for-profit professional association that promotes education, training and research in Sandplay Therapy as developed by Dora Kalff and based on the psychological principles of C.G. Jung.
STANZA is a member society of the International Society of Sandplay Therapy (ISST) and encourages, supports and promotes the work of ISST in Australia and New Zealand. It was formally recognised by ISST in 2023.
ISST is an international umbrella organisation inaugurated in 1985 by its founder Dora Kalff. The society is based in Zurich, Switzerland and is affiliated with IAAP (International Association for Analytical Psychology). It is committed to maintaining a high level of professional and ethical standards for sandplay therapy.
STANZA /ISST Certified Sandplay Therapists (CSTs) have met the rigorous requirements for certification according to ISST Guidelines. STANZA facilitates collegiality and provides a means of peer collaboration and professional development for members and associate members.
