Description:
Carl Jung observed, “The psyche consists essentially of images.” These images—rich with symbolic content—bridge the conscious and unconscious mind to activate Jung’s transcendent function. They invite the Sandplay Therapist to revere each sand scene in a spirit of openness and discovery.
Symbolic sensitivity in the Therapist holds their client in an activating, deeply reverent transference, which nurtures Self-healing. Children can refine growth pathways, adolescents refine identity, and adults find meaning. Thinking, feeling and embodied response to symbols are vital to the Sandplay Therapist’s clinical practice.
This practical program covers the fundamentals of symbolic awareness and develops the Sandplay Therapist’s competence to enhance clinical outcomes. The program is replete with images, case material, and will explore Jungian wellsprings through the symbolism of a fairy tale.
