Description:
“One would do well to treat every dream as though it were a totally unknown object. Look at it from all sides, take it in your hand, carry it about with you, let your imagination play around with it.”
C.G. Jung Collected Works Vol. 10. para. 320
As sandplay therapists how are we working with dreams our clients bring? Dreams and sandplay processes are both deep expressions of the unconscious psyche. Dreams arise in the realm of sleep without conscious intervention. Shaping and placing sand and miniatures may seem more under conscious influence, but we are constantly surprised by what emerges.
This seminar explores Jungian approaches to dreams and the interplay of dreams and sandplay, for example, how is a dream changed by being represented in the sandtray? It is an opportunity to develop our understanding of the ‘symbolic’ language of dreams and to amplify dream and sandplay images.
