Title:
Sandplay Symposium: Uncovering Mysteries in the Sand
Format:
in-person
Dates and Times:
Tuesday 4th August and Wed 5th August 2026
9am – 5pm
Auckland, NZ
Description:
A two-day Symposium exploring the ways Jungian sandplay therapy heals by creating a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious. We consider how the hands sense, move and shape the sand, connecting the body and psyche. Through case examples, we witness how the ‘shadow’ and the ‘numinous’, ideas expressed by C.G. Jung, appear in the sandtrays of adults and children.
We examine different healing symbols that emerge in the sand. We uncover what the traditional fairy tale Cinderella offers our understanding of the human psyche.
